He is the grand child of well famed “Ghantasala Balaramayya”, who is a director and producer, known for producing the Telugu film “Seetarama Jananam”, and this one is the debut film of “Akkineni Nageswara Rao”. Thaman discovers from a family of musicians from Pottepalem of Nellore District. His father name is “Ghantasala Siva Kumar” and he was a Drummer, who worked about in seven hundred films, under the composer “K. Chakravarthy”, his mother “Ghantasala Savitri” is a playback singer and his aunt is well known singer name “P. Vasantha”. This man we are talking about is married to Play back singer “Sri Vardhini”. At the age of nine, He joined “S.P. Balasubramaniam”, who is “Ilaiyaraaja’s” brother, and “G. Anand” as a rhythm pads player, and departed studies when he lost his father only at the age of 13.
